Dominique Sutton

Shooting Guard

6'6

225

The Patterson School (N.C.)

Junior

Dominique Sutton is a beast of a shooting guard who joined Team In the Zone for the Breakdown Hoops Festival.

He averaged 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists per game while dominating the competition. His strength and ability to get to the basket at will were quite evident as his skills were the talk of the tournament.

He also showed the ability to be a point guard with some exceptional ball handling ability.

Sutton plays with a ferocity and attitude that most players simply can't match. He wants to guard the other team's best player and will shut him down.

Sutton has received offers from Wake Forest, FAU, Kansas State, Miami and a host of others and will be a prize to any school because he is the most underrated player in the nation at No. 64.

Sutton will return to The Patterson School for his senior year where once again he will match up against the nation's best talent.

Freshman

Donovin McLendon played for two years for Team In the Zone helping lead the team to a 4-2 record at Division I Nationals and a 17-8 record overall in the team's second year of existence.

He is the best overall player that's ever come through the program. At 6-foot-5, 210 pounds, McLendong is a high-flying wing who can put the ball on the floor like a point guard and has NBA three-point range.

As a freshman at Long Island University-Brooklyn, McLendon saw action in 22 games and averaged 13.1 minutes per game. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 39% from the field. He had a season high 15 points and 5 rebounds against Penn State.

Julian Gamble

Power Forward

6'9

250

Southern Durham (N.C.)

Junior

Julian Gamble came into the Breakdown Hoops Festival in Miami as an unheralded big man out of Durham that had looks from East Carolina.

What he came out of Breakdown Hoops Festival with was the buzz of the tournament. The picture above does him no justice as he's filled out incredibly and is a man on the floor.

When battling J.J. Hickson the nation's No. 24 ranked player, Gamble dominated posterizing Hickson twice with two disgusting dunks and finished with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

That performance alone brought the college coaches out of their seats and scholarship offers from Miami, Tennessee, Kentucky, FAU, St. John's, Rhode Island, Georgia State and a truckload of other interest. The splash Gamble made was life changing and you'll hear his name for years to come and eventually the NBA.

Against the Tallahassee Wildcats, Gamble had another posterizing dunk, this time of A.J. Stewart who is ranked among the nation's best power forwards.

Wadner Joseph

Small Forward

6'3"

Point Guard

6'3

190

The Patterson Schoool (N.C.)

Senior

Mike Lacey joined Team In the Zone for the Breakdown Hoops Festival out of The Patterson School (N.C.) and came away with something that he didn't have before playing for Team In the Zone.

A scholarship offer from Florida Atlantic University that will land him in Boca Raton either this Fall or in 2007 depending on availability.

Lacey showed he's a hard-nosed defender who will make a scorer's life miserable as he did with Worldwide Renegades' shooting guard Chris Allen, the nation's No. 23 ranked player.

Lacey also finished with 13 points in that game plays the game above the rim with some sick hops. While his shooting needs some improvement, his heart, desire and tenacity on the floor are second to none.

He runs the floor exceptionally, is incredible defensively and attacks the bucket at will. Lacey is incredibly quick and very strong at 190 pounds.

Anthony Corral

Point Guard

5'11"

160

LaSell College

Freshman

Corral averaged over 24 points and 6 assists while leading Dade Christian to a 20-win season his junior year.

He transferred to Columbus his senior year and averaged almost 8 assists per game while teamed up with Eric Diaz.

Corral is a pure point guard who always looks to pass first, then look for his shot. He's a good outside shooter as well and has an excellent basketball IQ, not to mention being a fantastic free throw shooter.

After taking a year off, Corral has signed with Division III LaSell College located in Boston, Massachusetts, and will being play there this Fall.

Lennie Daniels

Small Forward

6'7

200

The native of Durham and Mount Zion Prep, Daniels averaged 16.7 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks per game.

He had a monster game against the Worldwide Renegades scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Daniels has great leaping ability and is a very athletic player who while only having played organized basketball for three years clearly has a great knowledge of the game.

Daniels received major interest from Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, FAU and Georgia State among a host of others.

At 6'7, he is a prototype at small forward and with another year of prep at Mount Zion will have a truckload of offers by the end of the year.

Tirell Baines

Power Forward

6'7

235

The Patterson School (N.C.)

Junior

Tirell Baines was scheduled to play with Team In the Zone for the Breakdown Hoops Festival, but due to his grandmother being rushed to the hospital just before departing for Miami, the native of Lauren, South Carolina, unfortunately missed the opporunity to dominate the paint in front of a hoard of college coaches.

Nonetheless, Baines whose nickname is Tank, is a dominated force in the paint at 6'7, 235 and has drawn comparisons to Charles Barkley and Larry Johnson.

He has an uncanny ability to finish plays off in the post and rebounds like a horse. That does not even include his ridiculous 44 inch vertical leap.

Baines had verballed to College of Charleston, but will prep his senior year at The Patterson School and if he does not sign with the College of Charleston, he will definitely take the floor with Team In the Zone at the Kingwood Classic next year and have coaches going nuts.

Brevard Community College

Freshman

Tony Roberts was a member of the inaugural Team In the Zone in 2002-2003. He played forward for the team and provided a multi-talented versatile player off the bench.

He did not play for Team In the Zone last year because he turned 19 prior to the September 1 cutoff prior to his senior year.

He is a good passer who sees the floor well and is a good ball handler.

He would be a point or shooting guard in college and can rebound the ball very well from that position. His long arms give him a great wing span to play the passing lanes and give opponents fits.

Roberts signed with Brevard Community College and competed there as a freshman in 2005-2006.

Nicholas Taylor

Albert Abrahams

Center

6'9"

He has recently committed to play at Prairie View A & M, a Division I program in the SWAC. He is expected to compete for a starting position as a freshman. (#52 in the photo)

He has a nice touch around the hoop and is a good rebounder. He uses his size to his advantage and clears a lot of space.

Although a bit overweight, Boozer is a very good defender against opponents his size and makes it very difficult to get easy looks at the hoop.

He helped lead Norland a 28-6 record and the Class 6A state championship alongside Zachery Peacock while averaging 10 points and 9 rebounds a game.

Blake Hyden

Point Guard

5'9"

He's also a very good defender and is good at reading the passing lanes.

Charlie Coley

Forward

6'8"

225

Dodge City Community College

Freshman

Up, up, up, up. That's Charlie Coley still rising in the air as this high flying forward dunks all over a defender.

But now Coley brings a whole lot more to the table as he was a freshman at Dodge City Community College in Kansas this past year.

He is an extremely athletic rebounder/shot blocker and long. Coley was the only Freshman named to the NJCAA Region VI Division I All-Region First Team. He averaged 11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game. He also shot 42.4% from beyond the arc. He will be playing next season (2006-2007) and completing his sophomore year at Dodge City CC in May 2007 in hopes of transferring thereafter to a Division I school in Florida.

With his sickening athletic ability and clearly improved outside game, Florida tops his lists of schools of interest.

He helped lead Monsignor Pace to the Class 3A Final Four and will be a key player under Coach Mark Lieberman next season.

Joseph has signed with Odessa Community College.

Denzel Rankin

Guard

6'3"

170

Miami Norland

Senior

Denzel Rankin's potential is endless. He has a great body for basketball. A legit 6'3 and long, Rankin is a great defender for Miami Norland. He did not get to play with the Vikings in the spring and summer because he transferred from Piper right before the start of the 2004-2005 school year.

With a full spring and summer in the Norland program following a great 24-5 season that saw the Vikings reach the Regional Final, people should expect to see Rankin emerge as a top player in Miami-Dade next year.

With a nice touch from the outside and a real good mid-range game, Rankin will be a tough cover for anyone and he'll be a key ingredient for In the Zone.

Desmond Bratton

Guard

Bratton is a great outside shooter and has great range. He averaged about 20 points a game as a junior at Bayshore Christian. He will be key player for In the Zone as he has the ability to run the point and play shooting guard as well.

Bratton was named as an All-Star at the Breakdown Battle for the Rankings when he shot the lights out of the ball. If he can do that this summer, Division I offers should be flying his way.

Remy Rodriguez

Shooting Guard

6'2"

180

Miramar Everglades

Senior

Remy Rodriguez is a pure gunner. He is a three-point bomber and will be relied upon by Team In the Zone for his outside touch. Rodriguez is a born leader as you can feel his leadership ability.

Rodriguez is deadly from the corner and can loves the challenge of shutting the opponent's top scorer down. When he's hot forget about it.

He missed a lot of this season at Everglades with a back injury, but is 100% now and will have a great opportunity to show colleges that he can play among the best which we certainly expect from him.

Miles Lamar

Guard

Monsignor Pace

Senior

Most people won't know who Miles Lamar is on site. But if you tell them he was number 12 at Pace, then they'd say oh yeah, a lockdown defender. And that's what Lamar is. A true lockdown defender.

If you hope to get an open shot, pray that Lamar isn't guarding you.

Lamar is unheralded and will show that he is more than just a defender. He can hit the outside shot and is incredibly athletic. He will was a key player in Pace's run to the Final Four this season and will play a key role next year.

Jonathan John

South Dade

Senior

Jonathan John is a native of the U.S. Virgin Islands who arrived in the states last summer and enrolled at South Dade. A crafty left with a nice touch from the outside, John has ridiculous hops.

For anyone who saw the McDonald's All-American dunk contest, John has the ability to stick his elbow in the rim just like Gerald Green.

John is a tough defender and generally plays against players who are bigger than him. He has long arms and has a strong upper body as he lives in the weight room. With improved ball handling, John will be tough to pass on by college coaches.

Herbert Polite

Earning 1st Team All-Putnam County honors as a sophomore, he missed most of his junior year after breaking his hand, but will surely help Team In the Zone in the post. He maintains a 4.4 grade point average.

Polite will attend Division III LaSell in the Fall.

David Blackwell

Guard

6'3"

200

Cardinal Gibbons

Sophomore

David Blackwell is simply a freak of nature. Already 6'3, 210 pounds, Blackwell is going to be flat out serious. And he's already there as he started at point guard for the Redskins as a freshman and sophomore helping lead them deep into the playoffs.

For anyone that remembers Steve Smith when he played for the Miami Heat, Blackwell gives reminders of Smith as he's already mastered the hesitation dribble blowing by defenders. He's very creative with the ball and has great body control around the hoop.

And he's going to keep on growing. Blackwell could eventually end up being a 6'5 point guard. He's got a nice touch from the outside and is physically very strong for his age. Don't even imagine what he will be as a senior because his potential is endless. A high-major Division I player is what Blackwell will be as a senior.

Blackwell had a great Breakdown Hoops Festival averaging 14 points and 6 assists. He led the team in scoring with 23 points against the New York Skyriders and shows he belons among the nation's elite.

Roy Brunn is a blazing fast point guard out of South Dade who plays at one speed - up-tempo.

He is a very good ball handler with a lot of confidence that he can take any defender off the dribble, and most of the time he does.

He's a solid defender with good vision to hit the lanes for a steal as well as when he's on offense find his teammates for an easy lay up.

Brunn is a legitimate Division I prospect and will be a great asset to Team In the Zone.

Iran Hollis

Small Forward

6'4

210

South Broward

Sophomore

Iran Hollis is a player most people haven't heard about, but when you see the range Hollis has from the outside, you know good things are in store for South Broward High School.

Hollis is only a sophomore, but his build is impressive for someone his age.

Hollis is expected to contribute a great deal to this year's team as his shooting ability is great, but he's also tough down in the block and grab rebounds and get some put backs for the squad.

Terrell Terry

Shooting Guard

6'2

175

Northwest Christian Academy

Sophomore

Terrell Terry is shooting guard out of Northwest Christian that many people don't know much about, but are surely going to find out about this summer.

Terry averaged about 20 points a game as a sophomore for the rebuidling Eagles, but his ability to stroke it from the outside is what will have people in awe.

Terry is still growing and will probably end up being around 6'4 when he's done growing. He's very athletic, plays tenacious defense and is a flat out great shooter.

Eddie Duarte

Shooting Guard

6'1

165

Columbus

Junior

Eddie Duarte is a wing player that can shoot the ball from the outside.

He led the Columbus Explorers this season to a 20-win season after many didn't expect the Explorers to win 15 games following the graduation of Eric Diaz and Anthony Corral.

He averaged about 15 points per game and will be the top player returning to next year's team.

Duarte is a great shooter from about 16-18 feet as he reads screens very well for someone at this level.

Rashad Dantzler

This summer will put Dantzler's name on the map.

Mike Baptiste

Small Forward

6'5"

165

South Miami

Junior

Mike Baptiste is a long agile player with great athletic ability. He can jump out of the room and has the tendency to make some unreal shots.

He has a consistent jump shot from around 15 to 17 feet from the basket and is going to be a difference maker for South Miami next year as they return four starters from last year's team that advanced to the regional semifinals.

He averaged about 12 points per game as a junior and has improved exponentially since the conclusion of his junior campaign.

Bryan Blanfort

Guard

6'2

Hialeah

Junior

Built like a linebacker, it's surprising that Blanfort isn't a stud on the football field as well.

But a very physical specimen, Blanfort is very strong and has the uncanny ability to batter his way to the rim.

A rather good ball handler for someone as bulky as he is, he's a tough cover for players smaller than him because of his strength and just as tough for bigger players because he can blow around them.

Max Groebe is Team In the Zone's newest addition. Groebe is a highly recruited shooting guard out of Hollywood Chaminade.

At 6'5, 210 pounds, Groebe provides that big guard that Team In the Zone has sorely lacked since it had Donovin McLendon two years ago.

Groebe has range from outside the gym. He is very strong and is a physical guard. He also plays for the German 18U National Team and has experienced basketball at the highest levels.
